Hi guys!

My name is Ashley and I am an intern with the Product Management team. I was named after one of the characters in the book -“Gone with the Wind”. So I started reading the book with the sole intention that it would shed some light on what my destiny on planet Earth was, but I could not go past the first 10 pages mainly because I could not relate much with the semantics of a book published in 1936. I am a Masters student of Information Systems Management (MISM) at  Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. I completed my undergraduate studies in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University after which I worked for a UK-based publishing company for about 9 months as a Commissioning Executive. I joined MuleSoft for the “Startup Experience” and I’m loving it so far. My project for the summer is to implement the Examples and Docs 2.0 Initiative. The deliverable for this project is to create a repository of Anypoint Studio Examples in congruence with features which will make a great learning experience for users of the Anypoint Platform. In my opinion, the best thing about working for a startup like MuleSoft is the degree of autonomy you can have and the magnitude of impact that you can create. As a wise man (Spiderman’s Uncle) once said, “With great power comes great responsibility” , and this aspect of the project is something that is both exciting and challenging for me at the same time. San francisco is a great city with a happening night life. There are tons of places to eat, so if you you are a foodie like me, this is your paradise. It is close to a lot of beaches and national parks so I make it a point to go on road trips to these beautiful points of interest on weekends. So far I’ve biked across the Golden Gate bridge, I’ve been to Carmel, the Big basin National Park and I hope to visit Yosemite this coming weekend. So basically life at MuleSoft has been great so far and I’m sure that it will continue to be the same. It’s the best place to be for any intern who wishes to learn and create an impact in a short span of 10 weeks. Stay tuned for more updates!

Cheers,

Ashley Jose

Hey, I am Arushi! I just finished my junior year at Stanford and can’t believe I only have one more year in paradise. Professionally, I am an aspiring marketing strategist. I choose my major because it was founded on the principles of design thinking, giving me a strong quantitative foundation integrated with creative approaches to developing products and connecting with consumers. My past experiences centered on optimization, creative design, and digital media.

If you really want to get to know me, here are some random facts:

  1. I have written down my favorite quotes since I was sixteen. Words hold a unique significance for me. As someone whose ability to talk exceeds the average person and who loves reading the right combination of written phrases, it is no surprise that sayings or everyday conversations have proven to be my stimulus for creativity.
  2. I have a map with thumbtacks of the places I have been to and want to go.
  3. I collect fortune cookies.
  4. I have seen every season of Friends at least seven times.

Hello, I’m Grace! I just graduated from Santa Clara University and am so excited to be here. As the Marketing Intern for the Training and Certification Services department, my main goals this summer will be driving awareness and increasing usage of MuleSoft’s training and certification programs. In the 10 weeks that I’m here, I’m excited to learn from the best in the industry and hope to make a valuable contribution to the growth and success of my department.

Hi, I am Xuan Shi. I grew up in Shanghai, China. After graduating college, I have lived in multiple cities in United States. One good thing of working in Mulesoft is that it brings me back to an awesome city again. I just passed my preliminary exam, and entered candidacy for PhD. My major research is in developing a novel traffic simulation platform for highway research. The connection between my major and my work in computer science is a typical question I imagine you would ask. Well, modern computer technologies have been incredible tools to tackle intricate engineering problems. And yes, I am that kind of tool user for years. Since I studied a second major in computer science, I have been the programming guy for academic projects such as highway data archiving, engineering process design, etc. I am very glad to join the Cloudhub team. It’s great to learn with professionals to see how software engineering works in practice. I wish such a good opportunity had come to me earlier!

Favorite Road Trip Song(s): You Better Listen – Sublime with Rome, Evening/Morning – Bombay Bicycle Club, Float On – Modest Mouse

Helllllllllllooo! My name is Alex, as in, Alexander the Great. Though I am female. I just finished my second year at Pomona College, where I’m studying studio art and psychology. My background includes an assortment babysitting jobs, where I learned how to deal with all sorts of rambuncious people, young and old. I interned for a small nonprofit arts organization called Machine Project, located in Echo Park in LA. That was my first glimpse of the art world in the real world and was really the catalyst for me deciding I want to go into a more corporate setting where I can utilize my creative skills, at least in the meantime. So far it’s been great, so I may stay for a while. At MuleSoft I hope to offer my creative and outside of the box thinking to push boundaries and help redefine MuleSoft’s identity. I’m already helping on the new business card project, which has given me a window into art crits and developmental processes in a corporate environment. I come to Mulesoft eager to learn the unique and exciting business practices of a startup and hopefully build connections between the more techie side of things and some creative initiatives. I am not as much of a tech genius magician as the rest of my coworkers but I’m really interested in learning all the ins and outs of a startup, and specifically what MuleSoft does, because there really is no other company out there that’s doing what we are, and that’s incredible.
My other interests focus on any medium I can spill my creativity into. Photography, sculpture, graphic design, painting, guitar, writing songs, electronic music, baking pies (a bit random but…I like pies:). I am always looking for new ways I can make a creative impact in whatever setting using my skills focused around creativity. I look forward to learning as much as I can about the technology industry and what MuleSoft does during my time here and stamping my creativity on any project that comes my way. I am so grateful and so excited for this internship. Thank you MuleSoft, I can’t wait to jump in!
